Mungo’s Hi Fi meets Freo Dub Club VOL 2 – Full Venue Takeover
3-HOUR EXTENDED SET | 2 FLOORS | 2 SOUND SYSTEMS
After last year’s sold-out mayhem, Mungo’s Hi Fi return to WA for our biggest session yet! This time, we’re turning up the heat with a full venue takeover at Freo.Social—two sound systems, two floors, and a deep dive into the heart of sound system culture.
Inside, the Dub Arena will be powered by the full KBI Sound System! Outside, the Riddim Yard will bring the vibes with Jungle, DNB & Hip Hop selections, powered by the mighty Traction rig.
And at the helm? None other than Mungo’s Hi Fi, bringing a 3-hour extended set filled with exclusive dubplates, heavyweight riddims, and deep cuts.
Mungo’s Hi Fi – 3-Hour Extended Set
Mungo’s Hi Fi love sound system culture to the core—from its Jamaican roots to the cutting-edge sounds of today’s raves, clubs, and festivals. Hailing from Glasgow, Scotland, Mungo’s Hi Fi are more than just a sound system—they are a global phenomenon.
With a career spanning over two decades, they have cemented themselves as one of the most influential dub and reggae collectives in the world. Whether through their legendary Scotch Bonnet Records releases, heavyweight live performances, or groundbreaking collaborations, their influence on modern dub and sound system culture is undeniable.
From Outlook Festival to Boomtown, Rototom Sunsplash to Glastonbury, Mungo’s Hi Fi have headlined the biggest reggae and bass music stages on the planet. Their deep catalog features collaborations with Sister Nancy, Sugar Minott, Ranking Joe, Soom T, Charlie P, Gardna, Eva Lazarus, and countless others, keeping the sound system tradition alive while pushing it into new territories.
Last time, we experienced the fire of Dougie No Pain—this time, it’s Craigy Wonder at the controls! Each of the 4 Mungo’s Hi Fi collective members brings their own unique riddims, selection style, and deep crates to the session, ensuring no two sets are ever the same.
Expect absolute MADNESS on the dancefloor as Mungo’s is about to shake the dancefloor and takes us on a journey through sound system culture.
KBI Sound System – Indoor Dub Arena
The mighty KBI Sound System returns in full force for this special occasion. Praised by Mad Professor for its warm, crystal-clear, and bass-heavy sound, KBI is one of the most powerful sound systems in the country. This custom-built UK sound system, founded by Prez & Tubby in 2002, built in Leicester UK and shipped to the shores of WA in 2012, has been dedicated to spreading Love, Peace & Unity through deep, chest-rattling bass and uplifting vibrations.
The Outdoor Riddim Yard – Traction Sound System
Bringing the finest counterculture selectors in WA, the Riddim Yard is set to be a high-energy takeover of Jungle, DNB, and Hip Hop selections by WA’s finest. Powered by the Traction rig, this outdoor space will keep the vibes flowing all night long. Make sure to pack a towel- as it’s about to get HOT!
Red Earth Dub Circus
The Red Earth Dub Circus is your home for all things dub, reggae, and sound system culture in WA. Dedicated to spreading good vibes and community through bass music, REDC has been the driving force behind Freo Dub Club, bringing together local legends and international heavyweights to build something truly special in the west.
Acid Dub Foundation (Germany / UK)
Emerging from Berlin’s underground sound system culture, Acid Dub Foundation brings a psychedelic, bass-heavy twist on dub music. Featuring Lloyd Dubelganger on live dub mixing, Yoann Degioanni on horns & rotating MCS, this powerhouse trio has shared stages with the likes of Zion Train, Weeding Dub, Mad Professor, Roots Raid, and Manudigital, making waves across the European and Australian festival circuits.
