Bookclub Afternoon with Brooke Dunnell

This is a bookclub event, with Western Australian author Brooke Dunnell, who will be in conversation about her book The Glass House. Attendees will be able to discuss the book with Brooke. A guided tour of the historic Katharine Susannah Pritchard Writers’ Centre (KSP) is included in the afternoon activities,  a book swap and an opportunity to network with other bookclubs.

Afternoon tea will be provided.

As it is a bookclub event; we encourage you to read Brooke’s book The Glass House before the event. The Glass House can be purchased from Fremantle Press here as a book, e-book or audiobook. It is also available from independent bookshops and Dymocks (the shops should be able to order a copy if there aren’t any on the shelves) and through your local library.

Brooke Dunnell has worked as a manuscript assessor and mentor, creative writing competition judge, and workshop facilitator. Her unpublished manuscript The Glass House won the Fogarty Literary Award in 2021 and was published in 2022 by Fremantle Press. Her short story collection Female(s and) Dogs was shortlisted for the 2020 Carmel Bird Digital Literary Award and the 2021 Woollahra Digital Literary Award. Brooke was one of Westerly’s 2023 Mid-Career Fellows and has had short fiction published in journals and anthologies including Best Australian Stories, Meanjin, Westerly, The Big Issue fiction edition, New Australian Fiction 2021 and New Australian Stories 2. Her second novel Last Best Chance is available now from Fremantle Press.

The Glass House and the Last Best Chance will be available to buy at the event.
